Brothers in Arms

Intentional Motion

A motion design and interactive media project commemorating the untold contributions of Indian soldiers in WWI. Through immersive 3D storytelling, interactive park walkthrough's, and educational video, the work reclaims voices lost to time and gives impactful visuals of the park.

The Challenge Awaits

Despite their immense contributions, Indian soldiers who fought alongside Canadian troops in WWI have largely been left out of mainstream narratives. The Brothers in Arms Memorial project aimed to correct this historical oversight by creating an educational, emotionally resonant, and accessible experience that would inspire remembrance and reflection across generations.

The Conflict

How do you honor forgotten stories while engaging a digital-first audience?

We were tasked with creating a compelling campaign and interactive website for the Brothers in Arms Memorial, focusing on Indian and Canadian soldiers in WWI—an often overlooked chapter in history.

Searching for the One

Finding the right medium for a message steeped in memory and emotion.

Initial work in Cinema 4D proved too limiting for the interactive experience we envisioned. After exploring options, we pivoted to Twinmotion to create an immersive and accessible presentation.

Bringing Ideas to Life

Translating narrative into motion, visuals, and story.

As the motion designer, I developed infographic-style animations, crafted a 3D book to house soldier letters and archives, and built visual sequences that wove emotion with historical detail—while also contributing feedback on the site’s UI and social campaign.

Testing the Magic

Balancing form and function.

Through iterative testing, we refined the visual experience for performance and clarity—optimizing render settings, adjusting platform integrations, and ensuring smooth transitions across devices and browsers.

The Destination

A living, breathing memorial site.

The final product is a web-based experience that includes interactive storytelling, 3D visuals, and a digital memorial powered by Twinmotion Presenter—now live as part of the Brothers in Arms public-facing campaign.

Reflection on Journey

A reminder of design’s power to restore lost voices.

This project taught me how to adapt rapidly between tools, collaborate across disciplines, and use motion design as a medium for remembrance, impact, and education. I have my team to thank for their support and hard work, and it is a experience I will never forget.
